Chicony Power Technology, a subsidiary of Chicony Electronics, plans to work with a Taiwan LED chip packaging company Unity Opto Technology by investing NT$400 million (US$12.5 million) to acquire zero-interest 5-year convertible bonds.

Cooperation between the two companies hopes to aim the LED backlight units using in LCD TVs and TV power supplies through the investment.
