The green lighting source means the lighting appliances through scientific design, with high efficiency, long life, safe and stable performance (including electric light, light electrical accessories, lamps wiring devices, controller and light dimmer devices). Through the use of green lighting, finally improve and enhance the way people work and living conditions, thereby creating an efficient, comfortable, safe, economical and beneficial to the environment, and fully reflects the lighting environment of modern civilization.

November 1993 the Economic and Trade Commission of China started Green Lighting Project, and formally included in the national plan of 1996.

According to the latest statistics, Chinese annual electricity up to 2000 billion kWh, that is 12% of the total generating capacity, about 2 and a half full-load power generation of Three Gorges.
