Revolution Lighting Technologies Completes LED Lighting Retrofit in Lehman College Campus

Revolution Lighting Technologies, a leader in advanced LED lighting technology solutions, today announced the completion of an LED retrofit project with Lehman College, the Bronx-based senior college of the City University of New York. The work, facilitated by Revolution Lighting Technologies operating division Tri-State LED, involved the installation of Revolution Lighting Technologies T8 LED tubes to increase energy efficiency and decrease utilities costs across campus. The multi-phase program has installed LED tubes, which are 60% more efficient than fluorescent lighting, to achieve an average payback of only 2.5 years.

San Francisco Bay Bridge Lit with LED Lighting from Philips by Artist Leo Villareal

This Saturday, the non-profit arts organization, ILLUMINATE, the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) and world-renowned artist Leo Villareal will officially re-light The Bay Lights, an iconic LED lighting installation on the San Francisco Bay Bridge, using equipment developed by Royal Philips (NYSE: PHG, AEX: PHIA), the global leader in lighting. The artwork, which originally appeared in March 2013 as a two-year installation, will now permanently illuminate the San Francisco Bay’s night sky with 25,000 Philips connected light points and an advanced cloud-based connected lighting platform to remotely monitor and maintain the lighting system.

The Middle Ring Expressway in Suzhou Lit with LEDs from Osram

The Middle Ring Expressway, located at Suzhou Hi-Tech Zone has transformed into the most brilliantly luminated municipal road in Suzhou city. With a total investment of RMB 22 billion, the roadway was equipped with around 2,000 sets of OSRAM OLUX™ LED Spot H with 4000K color temperature. In addition, around 10,000 sets of OSRAM XTRA Liner DC were used to achieve different lighting effects by changing the high powered LEDs. The seamless lighting effects are operated by e:cue control systems, including Butler S2, LCE 2 and RDM Isolater that control around 10,000 sets of OSRAM XTRA Liner LEDs, which produce identical colors simultaneously.

First Baptist Orlando Lit with High Lumen Fixtures from Vari-Lite

Originally established in 1871, First Baptist Orlando has grown into a congregation of over 16,000 members who worship in a sanctuary with approximately 5,500 seats. When the church recently underwent a renovation, lighting designer Anthony Rush was asked to identify the ideal lighting fixtures that could offer the weekly worship services and annual special productions alike the most versatile lighting rig possible. Working with the Orlando office of Stage Equipment and Lighting (SEAL), Rush looked at a number of fixtures which might have the functionality, dependability and versatility needed, and in the end, he decided upon VL4000 Spot and VL4000 BeamWash luminaires from Philips Vari-Lite.

Anne Kustner Haser, president and design principal at Anne Kustner Lighting Design (AKLD) in Evanston, Illinois started her professional career as a graphic designer, but quickly fell out of love with graphic design in favor of lighting design. Perhaps this decision was influenced by the way some photographers she worked with utilized lighting to instill excitement into an otherwise ordinary product. Or, maybe it was an instinctive aptitude that Anne displayed while arranging lighting throughout her house as a young teenager. Even more so, it could have been the influence of her supportive family and especially her encouraging father, who himself was involved in electrical engineering. Since that fateful decision, and after opening her own lighting design studio 21 years ago, Anne has created stunning lighting environments for a unique blend of commercial, hospitality, and high-end residential clients that allow their individual personalities to shine through.

Light Walk Amazes the Public with LED- Bulb 3D Matrix

Light Walk’ is a project designed for the UNESCO 2015 International Year of Light Festival. Located in the passages leading into the Carl Zeiss eG, it is an interactive light installation which aims to encourage the use of multiple passages by displaying the data of the people’s presence from each passage around the courtyard into the main passage, containing the visualization. By placing sensors in each of the walkways, the movement of the user is tracked and then shown as a ‘data ghost’ of light through a 3D light matrix.

Santander Rolls out 90,000 LED Lighting Retrofit Project

 A GBP17.5 million (US $25.75 million) investment by UK Green Investment Bank and Sustainable Development Capital Limited is UK’s largest ever fully-funded LED lighting retrofit project. About 90,000 new lights to be installed across Santander’s entire UK estate of 800 branches and 14 office buildings. The project will generate energy savings of more than 50% and cut greenhouse gas emissions by more than 7,000 tonnes annually.
