U.S. and China Major Drivers for MLS 2014 Production Capacity-LEDforum Taipei 2013

China based LED package company MLS Lighting 2013 performance for packaging components and lighting products was good. The company expects to reach the target of RMB 3 billion (US$ 492 million) for 2013. MLS is actively pursuing discussions for cooperation between U.S. market dealers and channels. The company hopes benefits from entering the U.S. market will be reflected in 2014. In addition to continual demand growth in China, MLS predicts single month production capacity for LED packaging components to jump from 13 billion to 20 billion.


TrendForce invited MLS to attend this year’s LEDforum. The company’s 2013 LED packaging component and lighting performance was good, especially due to powerful SMD packaging demands remarked Elvis Zhang, Chief Technical Officer, Operation Center, MLS during the conference.  . Therefore the company hopes to reach its 2013 revenue target of RMB 3 billion and RMB10 billion by 2016.

MLS market strategy uses its brand name as well as OEM model in U.S. and China Product revenue for the company in 2013 was slightly higher than the revenue for the company’s OEMs. Aside from the Chinese market, MLS’s main market is the U.S. which they are currently breaking into. Zhang pointed out that the company is in discussions with U.S. dealers and distributors in hopes that through cooperation florescent light shipment volume to the U.S. will soar in 2014.


With the U.S. market expected to become the largest growth drive for the company in 2014, overall performance for the year is optimistic. With the aid of subsidiaries, the LED package component production capacity  will reach 13 billion in a single month after October. The company predicts3Q14 production capacity to increase 20 billion. Monthly shipment volume for florescent light reached  2 million and 2.5 million for LED bulbs. The target for 2014 is to increase monthly shipment volume by 20 million  for both florescent lighting and bulbs.  

 
About 50 percent of MLS chip resources come from Taiwan LED chip manufacturer Epistar and others from Optotech. Chinese LED chip manufacturers are also part of MLS supply chain.
