Philips, Osram, Nichia, UL, Zumtobel, CORDIS and GE Lighting among those to speak at euroLED 2012

euroLED organisers IntertechPira and Birmingham Science Park Aston are pleased to announce the full agenda for the 9th annual euroLED 2012 conference, bringing together major lighting companies, end users and industry specialists to provide key industry insight, topical case studies and technical market data.

Taking place on 13-14 June 2012 at the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham, UK, euroLED comprises of an exhibition, showcasing all levels of the LED supply chain, a high profile technical conference and a highly popular gala dinner. The complete euroLED show experience will provide attendees with a truly vast level of valuable information, great potential for debate and discussion, and unrivalled networking opportunities.

With guidance from an expert industry advisory board of representatives from leading companies in the LED and SSL industries, including Samsung, LUX-TSI and end user John Lewis, a high quality two day technical programme has been constructed featuring presentations from industry leaders including Philips Lumileds, Nichia and Osram.

“LED technology is quickly becoming the dominant lighting technology and euroLED brings together the key players in the European LED and LED related industry. It is a platform for exchanging information and learning about new developments and breakthroughs and therefore a very important information source that helps to stay ahead of the competition. This is a great opportunity for myself and Zumtobel and I am honoured to participate in euroLED 2012” Heinz Seyringer of the Zumtobel Group, euroLED advisory board member and chairman at the conference.

The conference will open with a session focused on assessing market forecasts and driving LED adoption and investment in the LED sector. A key highlight of this session will be a presentation from Deepa Doraiswamy of Frost & Sullivan, providing a critical update on the market opportunities in the Indian lighting market, where LED lighting is expected to grow significantly, replacing traditional lighting technologies as the demand for energy efficiency in lighting increases.

Another topical highlight of the programme will be delivered by Michael Grubb, ODA Learning Legacy Ambassador for Lighting, to explain how the lighting design evolved for the public realm aspects of the Olympic Park, including the process, constraints, opportunities and reasoning behind adopting LED technology.

Martyn Chamberlain of CORDIS will also provide the European perspective on the SSL industry and information regarding the Solid State Lighting Green Paper, consultation, and follow-up, plus developments for Horizon 2020, alongside presentations from UL and the Zhaga Consortium comparing and contrasting varying international industry standards.

“I am pleased that this year’s exciting conference programme features a broader range of high profile speakers than ever before and with the introduction of panel discussions, chaired by expert members of the advisory board, I am looking forward to lively debates of hot topics over the two day event, “ Hayley Marsden, Conference Producer of euroLED 2012.
