AOC TV Aims at Rs 1,100 cr Revenue in India Market for LCD and LED TV in 2013

On August 22, AOC TV has signed Bollywood actress Kalki Koechlin as brand ambassador, and has announced that it targets to double revenue from India to Rs 1,100 crore in 2013, as it looks to corner a "significant" market share in the growing LCD and LED television segment here.

Yesterday, the company also showcased a range of LCD and LED TVs, priced between Rs 15,000 and Rs 40,000.

The company had started its TV business in India early in March.

AOC TV Director Seema T Bhatnagar pointed out that, "The LCD and LED TV market is growing very fast in India. We are targeting to clock revenue of Rs 550 crore in this year and aiming to increase it to Rs 1,100 crore in 2013."

She also added that the company was looking to sell 3.5 lakh units this year in the estimated 70 lakh units Indian flat panel market.

"Our target is to have a significant 7 percent share, that is selling 7 lakh units in 2013. The Indian market is estimated to grow to one crore units next year," Bhatnagar said, adding the company is focussing on the LCD segment.

Giving details about its sales network, Bhatnagar said the company, which is selling its products through multi- branded outlets, will open exclusive showrooms from next year.

"Initially we will open 20 outlets. Our entire focus of business will be Tier-II and -III cities across the country," she said, adding the company currently operates 200 service stations at various locations.

In addition, the company has also earmarked Rs 50 crore for spending in advertising and other promotional activities this year.

Bhatnagar said AOC TV will sell its entire range of products by importing these from China.

When asked if the company would consider setting up an assembly line in India, she said: "There is a possibility of an assembly line here, but we have not decided anything yet."

AOC TV currently has 15 manufacturing facilities across the world in China, Poland, Mexico and Brazil.
