Lighting Science Group Strengthens Global Sales Team with New Appointments

Lighting Science Group, a leading manufacturer of LED lighting solutions, announced today the appointments of three experienced sales leaders who will add broad business and industry expertise to its global sales team. Daniel Yasi joins the company as Senior Director of Commercial and Infrastructure Channels. Oscar Ibarra also joins LSG as Director of International Infrastructure Sales. Additionally, David Rubin joins the team as a Director of Commercial Markets. Dan, Oscar and David will play key roles in supporting and growing the Lighting Science product portfolio, with specific concentrations on expanding the commercial and infrastructure channels both domestically and internationally.

Dan Yasi joins Lighting Science from his previous positions as VP of Sales for North America & EMEA at Boston Power and Director of Sales for XALT Energy. In these positions, Dan was responsible for the management and oversight of all sales, channel partner relations, and demand creation for Lithium-Ion cell technology and pack solutions for the Electric Vehicle, Consumer, Medical, Military, Marine, Transportation, Utility Storage and Industrial markets. Dan previously has over 25 years of sales leadership and management experience in the semiconductor and IT industry. Dan earned a BS in Computer Engineering from Northeastern University.

Oscar Ibarra comes to Lighting Science Group after serving as Director of International Sales at Cooper Wiring Devices for over 10 years. Prior to Cooper, Oscar was Director of Latin American Sales & Marketing for Schneider Electric’s Xantrex Technologies, a solar and power backup inverter business. In his 15 years at Schneider Electric, Oscar held positions of increasing levels of responsibility, including senior sales and marketing positions in France, Mexico and Venezuela. He speaks five languages fluently (English, Spanish, German, Portuguese, French) and is a passionate builder of businesses and relationships. Oscar earned a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Marketing & Distribution post-graduate diploma at Universidad Simon Bolivar in Caracas, Venezuela.

David Rubin joins Lighting Science from ETi Solid State Lighting Inc., an emerging leader in the LED lighting industry, where he served as President for the Americas. David brings years of progressive leadership experience with companies specializing in LED lamps and luminaires, as well as discrete LED components, serving each of the commercial and industrial, retail, and OEM markets. Prior to ETi Solid State Lighting, David served as Director of Sales for North America at Luminus Devices and President for the Americas division of Everlight Electronics. David holds a B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin, and an executive M.B.A. from the University of Texas at Dallas. David is also an active member of the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) and is on The LED Show Board of Advisors.
