LED-lighting Company Nualight Received 2011 London Cleantech Connect Awards

LED-lighting company Nualight, which is a venture capital-backed firm that specialises in the lighting of food retail displays, has won the overall Judges Award at the 2011 Cleantech Connect Awards in London.

Some of the hottest and fastest-growing green-tech firms in Europe came down to the final 10 at the awards. The 10 finalists came from a variety of clean-tech sectors, including water, solar, smart grid, transportation, and energy efficiency. According to the organisers, the Judges Award is given to "the overall favourite, a leading contender in all categories.

According to Nualight , it acquired Lumoluce, a Dutch LED-lighting technology firm, for just under €11m in early September,. At the time, Nualight said it was aiming to help food retailers reap energy savings of up to 40pc by switching to LED lighting. The acquisition of Lumoluce was expected to bring Nualight's revenues to just more than €25m for 2011.
