Homebase Recalls Potentially Explosive LED Night Lights

Large UK home enhancer and garden retailer issued a notice recently recalling “Baby start LED night lights” that under certain circumstances could trigger a small explosion.

According to the statement issued by the company the lights lacked an internal fuse, under certain situations this could lead to premature failure of other components. A spike in the electrical current could lead to possible product failure emit smoke or cause a small explosion.

The product also does not comply with UK’s Low Voltage Directive and relevant national standard. No details were provided on the manufacturing origins of the product.
