Show Report: Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition 2014 Bigger than Ever

Known as the largest lighting exhibition in Asia, Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition (GILE) 2014 did not fail to disappoint, boosting a whopping 2,911 exhibitors from 25 different countries and regions presenting innovations in decorative lighting, technical lighting, lighting accessories, components, and LED technology. 

The exhibition was divded into Hall A and B, with Hall B shown here showcasing both LED lighting and Guangzhou Electrical Building Technology. 

The 19th edition of GILE 2014 showed an impressive 13.9 percent increase in international and domestic visitors. The show was held from 9-12 June 2014 in Guangzhou at the China Import and Export Fair Complex. The top ten overseas visiting countries and regions included Taiwan, Hong Kong, the U.S., Germany, Korean, Japan, Italy, Singapore, India, and Belgium. There was also a significant increase from exhibitors from emerging markets such as Russia, Egypt, Thailand, Ukraine, and Malaysia. 

The four day show centered on sustainability, application of intelligent lighting, project-based business development, and LED integration. The increase in exhibitors attracted a larger number of professional buyers from China and overseas. The exhibition was a great platform for LED component manufacturers including Taiwanese manufacturers Everlight, Edison Opto, NYTEX, Macroblock, Lextar, Genesis Photonics Inc, Korean manufacturer Seoul Semiconductor, and U.S. manufacturers Bridgelux and Luminus Devices. 
Taiwanese manufacturers Edison Opto, Macroblock, Genesis Photonics Inc, and Everlight were some of the many Taiwanese manufacturers who drew large crowds eager to view the company's newest products and innovations. 
GILE 2014 also saw many large well known international manufacturers at the show. With the China lighting market on the rise, manufacturers used this opportunity to promote their business and products. Several notable manufacturers included Philips Lumileds, Panasonic, and Cree. 
 
Philips Lumileds, Panasonic, and Cree wowed visitor's with their large booths and wide variety of applications. 
The Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition has seen a gradual increase in exhibitors and visitors each year as interest in energy efficient lighting grows. It has become one of the more influential and comprehensive exhibition for LED lighting in Asia.
