Sharp Introduces Nine New LED Lamps for Home Use

Sharp Corporation will introduce into the Japanese market nine models of LED lamps. With the same standard screw-in base and fit in the same sockets as ordinary incandescent lamps, the lamps are easy to use as replacements for ordinary lamps.

The model DL-L60AV LED Lamp features an Adjustable Color Function that enables users to change the color of the white light emitted from the lamp using an accessory remote control, an industry first for an LED lamp, according to the company. Users can select from seven different shades of white ranging from a warm white to a cooler daylight white to match the weather, the season, time of day, purpose, or other preferences. This model also features a built-in Dimmer Function to adjust brightness.

In addition, the model DL-L601N LED Lamp delivers a brightness of 560 lumens, among the highest in the industry for LED lamps having nearly the same size and shape as ordinary incandescent lamps.

The models DL-L401N/L LED Lamps can be run for approximately 11 hours at a cost of only one yen, according to Sharp. All models feature a service life of 40,000 hours.

Major Features
1. Adjustable Color Function enables users to change the color of light from the lamp ranging from warm white to daylight white, an industry first, using the remote control (model DL-L60AV).

2. Brightness of 560 lumens, among the brightest in the industry for an LED lamp having nearly the same physical size and shape as a standard incandescent lamp (model DL-L601N).

3. Outstanding energy efficiency allows lamp to be used for approximately 11 hours for a cost of one yen (models DL-L401N/L).

4. Long service life with a design lifetime of 40,000 hours.

5. Bright, even illumination.

Features

1. Adjustable Color Function enables users to change the color of light from the lamp ranging from warm white to daylight white, an industry first, using the remote control (model DL-L60AV).

The model DL-L60AV features an Adjustable Color Function, an industry first for an LED lamp, enabling the shade of the white light from the lamp to be changed from a pleasing warm white (equivalent to the light from a conventional incandescent lamp) to a cooler daylight white (equivalent to bright daylight) using an accessory remote control. The user can select his or her preferred shade of white according to the weather, season of the year, or time of day. For example, a user can select warm white during the winter or at dinnertime when a relaxing atmosphere is desired, or crisp cooler daylight white during the summer or in the morning for a refreshing wake-up. This model also features a built-in Dimmer Function, and together, these features enable users to enjoy a diverse range of illumination settings by changing the brightness and color of the white light using just one remote control. This lamp can also be used without the dimmer in the usual way.

2. Brightness of 560 lumens, among the brightest in the industry for an LED lamp having nearly the same physical size and shape as a standard incandescent lamp (model DL-L601N).

The models DL-L601N/DL-L60AN adhere closely to the classic globe style of ordinary incandescent lamps while delivering a brightness of 560 lumens, among the brightest in the industry for an LED lamp having nearly the size and shape of a standard incandescent lamp for general illumination.

3. Outstanding energy efficiency allows lamp to be used for approximately 11 hours for a cost of one yen (models DL-L401N/L).

These lamps offer outstanding energy efficiency and consume only very low amounts of power—4.1 W for the DL-L401N/L models, and 7.5 W for the DL-L601N/L models—enabling them to be used for approximately 11 and 6 hours, respectively, for the cost of just one yen.

4. Long service life with a design lifetime of 40,000 hours.

The service life of these lamps is 40,000 hours, approximately 40 times longer than ordinary incandescent lamps. Even used for 10 hours a day, these lamps would not need to be replaced for more than 10 years.

5. Bright, even illumination.

LEDs are point-like sources of light and are highly directional, but applying a diffusion coating to the inside of the glass globe provides bright, uniform illumination and prevents uneven color and variations in light intensity.

6. Lights instantly at full brightness.

LED lamps light at full brightness immediately after being switched on. In addition, there is no deterioration in intensity or longevity even after repeated cycles of being switched on and off. Thus, LED lamps are ideal for use in bathrooms, entryways, hallways, lavatories, and other areas where lights are turned on and off frequently.

7. Clean; tends not to attract insects.

These LED lamps emit almost no light in the 350-nm (ultraviolet) waveband that tends to attract insects, thus minimizing dirt and contamination of the lighting fixture from flying bugs and insects.
