Consumers Petition for Option to Turn Off PS4 Controller LED Light Bar

Sony’s latest PS4 controller which comes with a LED bar has irked some consumers, according to a report by Product Review.com.

According to Sony's statistics, the hot selling game console sold over 1 million units during the first day of the launch in U.S, but some users are becoming unhappy with the game controllers, due to the undimmable bright LED lights that cannot be switched off during gaming.

Some users responded the bright lights created discomfort and could be seen being reflected from the TV screen. One user even pointed out the bright lights ruined the atmosphere when playing a horror game, and made it more difficult to become immersed in the game.

In addition, other gamers were concerned that the controllers battery life would be sacrificed with the LED lights, but Sony has assured users that LEDs consume very little power and has no effect on battery life.

Others have argued the feature is “a nuisance” for consumers that do not possess a camera to go with it.

Although, there has been much discussion about changing the PS4 game controller hardware, only 25 people have signed up to a petition asking for dimmable LED PS4 controllers.
