Ledlink Invests US $1.5M into Expanding Secondary Optic Operation Equipment for 2013

Secondary optic manufacturer Ledlink felt the effects of increased LED lighting demands when their originally predicted capital expenditure of US $7 million for 2013 instead reached that of US $8 million. Ledlink chairman Tang Delong stated that after the 2Q13 production launch of their newly acquired factory in Yangzhou, the next goal was to increase self manufacturing for mold production with an estimated investment of about US $15 million in order to increase the volume of machines. Starting from November this year, one month’s operation quantity will increase from 100 sets to 150 sets.

Ledlink chairman Tang Delong holds up an optical mold. The company plans to increase operation quantity from 100 sets to 150 sets to meet consumer demand.

Ledlink chairman Mr. Tang remarked that Ledlink has three main capabilities: secondary optic mold design, mold manufacturing and injection molding. Following the launch of Ledlink’s new Yangzhou factory at the end of 2012, 2Q13 was already able to turn out new production capabilities. Ledlink revenue showed that it was about to reach US $100 million. The original company estimate for this year’s entire capital expenditure was around US $7 million. However, due to emergency customer orders, Ledlink mold production capability was insufficient. Therefore 2013 is estimated to purchase another US $1.5 million in mold machinery, increasing mold self manufacturing.

Mr. Tang states that Ledlink has a monthly production of about 100 units in molds, but if there are any urgent orders, then the company must outsource their mold production. In order to expand mold production capabilities, Ledlink 2013 capital expenditure has to be adjusted. It is estimated that by November of this year, the company will expand mold production capabilities and that after November every month will increase production to 150 sets.

Ledlink currently has 140 injection molding machines at their Dongguan factory and 40 at their new Yangzhou factory. However by September of this year, the number of injection machines at Yangzhou will increase to 58 and by the end of 2013 it is estimated that new mold machines will increase by another 50.
