LightFair 2020 Cancelled; Display Week Still Pending

LightFair 2020, originally taking place during May 3-7, 2020 and previously postponed, is now canceled due to the coronavirus epidemic, according to the announcement of International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD), the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) and International Market

The organizers noted that they have received feedback from IALD, IES, exhibitors and attendees that a trade show and conference in 2020 during the available summer dates is not feasible. As a result, the event will return in 2021 in New York and the next year in Las Vegas.

Until today, April 6, the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has led to several cancelations and postponements of international events including MWC 2020, Light + Building 2020, Hong Kong International Lighting Fair and more. Many postponed events such as LightFair 2020 and Prolight + Sound were cancelled afterwards.

At the moment, if Display Week 2020 will be held as planned is one of the major focuses in the industry. The Society of Information Display (SID) announced on March 12 that the event will take place as scheduled during June 7 to 12. However, the coronavirus has swept the U.S. in the past month with national emergency declared. California, where SID taking place, is also one of most impacted states in the U.S. However, the event organizer has yet updated the status of Display Week.
