GE to Roll out New LED Light Bulbs In Fall

GE is about to roll out its Energy Smart line of LED incandescent replacement light bulbs within the next 16 months.

The replacement for the dimmable 60-watt bulb will come  in November, in the form of a 13-watt, smart LED.

By the end of 2012, the replacements for both 75-watt and 100-watt GE bulbs will be available in 18 and 27-watt varieties. The bulbs are expected to last up to two decades, based on three hours of use per day.

Asides from GE , Slyvania and Philips have also introduced their versions of LED replacement bulbs, which are said to use one-tenth of the power of incandasent bulbs.
