DIY Ornamental LED Death Star

For those who want to make an original Christmas ornament this year, blogger craftycounterpart on Instructables website has unveiled the steps in making an awesome LED Death Star from Star Wars.

Step one drill a hole into the clear acrylic ornament. After securing the acrylic dish with epoxy putty, paint is applied to the acrylic sphere to give it a grey blue look. After painstakingly painting the sphere, LED lights are added. The tiny LED lights are soldered onto separate boards to give the Death Star its inhabited look. Finishing touches are added to the piece to give it a sophisticated finished look.
