Philips Site & Area Solar LED Solutions Provide High Quality Illumination Powered by the Sun

Over 400 million tons of CO² per year on average is generated by power electricity which is used to support lighting applications that highly impact our environment and climate. We therefore need to find a renewable source of green energy.

PHILIPS knows the importance of renewable energies and how they are becoming a more important part of our lives while being a more viable way of powering everyday objects. And solar energy is one of the green, renewable and free energies. Philips has optimized the combination of the latest LED technology and solar power to produce a solution that meets the challenge.

This Philips Site & Area Solar Solutions will help rural and remote communities that may not have access to an electrical grid to have a safer and enjoyable environment. It can also be the perfect choice for any cities looking for a greener and more environmentally friendly lighting solution.

How the System Works

When the sun shines during the day, the solar panels convert solar energy to electrical energy, and stores it in the battery. At night, the battery is discharged, releasing electrical energy to power the LED luminaire and illuminate your site.

Multiple lighting profiles are available – including intelligent controls that allow for dimming and motion sensing – to help ensure your system will stay powered on, even after enduring up to five dark days. Integrated solar controls provide built in safety features such as thermal protection, deep discharge protection, and surge protection.
