Everlight Expects Revenues to Improve in 2Q15

News Source:

Affected by the Chinese Lunar New Year holiday season, Taiwanese LED manufacturer Everlight’s revenue in February dipped slightly. However, with workdays returning to norm in March, the company expects revenues to rebound, according to a MoneyDJ report.

Revenue in 1Q15 is estimated to have reached about NT $7.5 billion (US $), about a 10% Quarter-on-Quarter (QoQ) decline, but is expected to reach above NT $8 billion in 2Q15. The company’s estimates quarterly growth of 10% to 20%, while YoY growth will exceed 10%. The company’s quarterly gross profits have also stabilized. As the backlight industry enters its conventional peak season, it is estimated 2Q15 performances will continue to increase, and outperform first quarter.

Everlight’s outlook for 2015 and major operation highlights:

  1. The company’s backlight business will continue to serve as its major growth momentum. Everlight’s LED backlight revenue share is about 25% to 30%. Apart from its existing client pool, the company has added new Japanese and Korean clients, and started shipping in first quarter. The company has also released more profitable flip chip products, which have been adopted by clients. Hence, these can help stabilize product’s average selling price.
  2. Everlight has started to ship LED lighting package orders to new clients, and estimates lighting product ratio to be kept at 20%. Although, the company has announced it will gradually exit the residential lighting manufacturing market in Taiwan, it will continue to manage its own brand and expand in large scale outdoor lighting and commercial lighting business. Additionally, most industry insiders also believe Everlight’s exit from the residential lighting market is beneficial to improving the company’s production costs.
  3. The company has continued to see growth in automotive and other applications. Last year, the company’s automotive lighting revenue share was a mere 3%, but the company expects revenues from automotive lighting will reach above 4%. However, long term automotive orders have been stabilized, which is beneficial to optimizing product portfolios.

Benefiting from growth in lighting and backlight orders in 2014, the company’s consolidated revenue reached NT $30.6 billion (US $970 million). The company’s gross profit was about 24.9% in the first three quarters, while net profit was NT $1.62 billion.

Everlight is a large Taiwanese LED package manufacturer, with its headquarters based in Shulin District in Northern part of the country. The company’s manufacturing and assembly production lines are spread out in Tucheng District, Yuanli Township in Miaoli central Taiwan, and Suzhou and Guangzhou cities in China. The company also maintained vertical integration with upstream LED die suppliers by acquiring 2.1% and 9.6% shares in Epistar and Tekcore respectively.

The company has a strong global presence with offices in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, India, Germany, Sweeden, U.S. and Canada.
