LEDs-illuminated Nightgowns Made an Impression at Met Gala 2016

As the dress code goes by “Tech white tie” under the theme “Manus x Machina: Fashion in the Age of Technology” for Met Gala 2016, many Hollywood celebrities naturally opt for shining, metallic and sleek textures for their nightgowns, reported Telegraph.

The Marchesa dress showed off by supermodel Karolina Kurkova is definitely one of the eye-catching night gown.

The gown was collaboratively made by IBM and Marchesa. Creating using color-changing 150 LED lights, the color of the lights reflect the mood of Karolina’s twitter followers.

IBM’s Watson Tone Analyzer is responsible of sensing and analyzing the moods, enabling the dress to pick up on joy, passion, curiosity, excitement and encouragement. The results are passed to the lights on the supermodel’s dress.

Meanwhile, Zac Posen, having impressed many with his LED-lit dress coopearted with Google's Made with Code program, sets out to create a dress that integrate technology and fantasy, and it's believed that he made it. The fabric is customized developed for the illuminating purpose, reported Entertainment Weekly.

And up to 30 mini battery packs were sewn into a thin organza lining to keep the gown shining. Claire Danes in the pale-blue princess style dress.
