Fotodiox Announces High-Intensity LED Series for Still and Video Lighting

Fotodiox, manufacturer and distributor of high-quality photography and videography accessories, has announced the LED-200WA, the next generation of its high-intensity LED light series. Available in 5600K (Daylight) or 3200K (Tungsten) color temperatures, the 200WA is a constant light source modeled after the familiar strobe form factor that enables the use of standard strobe accessories. The LED-200WA is twice as bright as Fotodiox's prior model, the award-winning LED-100WA, and demands significantly less power than an equivalent tungsten fixture. These lights are an ideal solution for both photographers and videographers that engage in extended photo and video shoots.

Fotodiox's New LED-200WA

The LED-200WA is the more powerful compliment to the LED-100WA, which recently received a 2013 POP Award from the magazine Popular Photography as part of the year’s best new photography gear. Despite requiring a mere 200 watts of electric draw, the 200WA produces over 15,000 lux/m of luminance. It runs on constant current power, enabling it to last twice as long as LEDs that run on alternating current power. As with its predecessor, the 200WA generates practically zero heat, creating an environment that is more comfortable for both the photographer and subject. Additionally, the 200WA has a built-in glass diffuser for a soft, even light and a high color rendering index (CRI >85) that consistently renders proper color in virtually any environment.

“It is our mission to provide photographers and videographers with top-of-the-line technology while still maintaining affordability and efficiency. We created the LED-200WA series to achieve exactly that,” said Kelvin Luo, president of Fotodiox. “These lights produce bright, consistent, color-correct light with amazingly low power requirements at unprecedented prices. When the photographer's equipment is easier to use, they can focus more on getting the perfect shot.”

Thanks to the LED-200WA series’ transportable, flexible, and economical design, hobbyists, professional photographers and videographers alike can now engage longer-lasting shoots and better quality output. Features of the LED-200WA series include:
