Everlight’s Chairman Robert Yeh refuted market rumors claiming the company had received Philips OEM orders, according to a money.udn’s report.

Major U.S. and European manufacturers plan to increase their OEM orders amid LED lights falling price trends, which is expected to benefit Taiwanese LED manufacturers. Recent market rumors emerged that Everlight might have acquired an OEM order from lighting giant Philips.

“Everlight has not received any OEM orders,” said Yeh.

As LED lighting market’s lumen per dollar (lm/$) keeps falling, major U.S and European manufacturers are facing profit erosion pressures. Low price trends will force these major manufacturers to release new OEM orders. Besides building the company’s own brand, Everlight is actively seeking OEM orders, and might have opportunities to work as an OEM for international brands next year.

Everlight’s effective cost and operation management, enabled it to maintain a gross margin of 24%, despite plunging LED retail prices in the market this year, according to financial institutes analysis. Since the price competition is still an ongoing issue, major manufacturers such as Philips, GE, OSRAM, and Nichia are predicted to increase their OEM orders, which is good news for Taiwanese LED OEM businesses.

Everlight’s revenue peak for 2014 has passed, due to 4Q inventory adjustments, according to financial institutions analysis. The company’s annual EPS has been lowered to NT$ 4.5 (US $0.16) from previous estimations of NT$ 5.
