Vivid Lock Keeps You Safe on the Road and Helps Secure Your Bike

Vivid Bike Lock is a wearable LED strip that lets bikers to be seen by other road occupants and also functions as lock that secure bicycle when needed.

In order to lighten cyclists’ burden, Vivid Lock founders Tosika Maluma and Carson Tully started with their passion about cycling, aiming at something that is light-weighted, simple and practical at the same time.

Vivid Lock uses a total of 60 LEDs, with 30 bulbs emitting white light on the front strip and another 30 bulbs on the back that emit orange light.The strip-shaped lock uses a customizable 4 digit combination lock and 2 integrated fiber core steel cables that are wrapped with reflective1000D nylon on each side.

Protected by water resistant PVC stripe, the light modules are charged with a mini controller.

There are 4 colors to choose from, including orange, white, black and teal.

According to the company’s Kickstarter page, the project has acquired AU$ 8,128 (US$ 5,930) out of AU$ 115,000 (US$ 83,900) goal so far. If successfully founded, the early bird kit will be shipped in March 2016.
