Recovery of Global LED Market Kept Prices of LED Light Bulbs Steady in September

Prices of LED light bulbs were steady through September as the global LED market picked up significantly and LED chip prices remained stable, according to the latest report by LEDinside, a division of TrendForce.

“The global average sales price (ASP) of 40-watt equivalent LED light bulbs fell 1.3% in September compared with the prior month to US$9.3, while the global ASP of 60-watt equivalent LED light bulbs dropped 0.9% monthly to US$12.7,” said LEDinside analyst Allen Yu.

Stabilization of the chip market gave support to package prices in September
In the Chinese package market, there was no significant change to the ASP of 2835 LEDs as these products already experienced a massive price decline during 2015 and are now priced near their costs. Moreover, LED chip manufacturers have raised prices on chips for standard packages. This in turn also helped stabilize prices of 2835 LEDs in September. Likewise, prices of 5630 LEDs were generally steady in the same month. As for EMC 3030 LEDs, some South Korean suppliers lowered their prices, resulting a monthly decline of around 0.9%.
