As several biker accessories have been introduced, including COBI which navigate biker through the urban jungle with smartphone, Vivid Lock that keeps both biker and the bike safe, a company called CycleLabs may have made a pretty good sum up with their Kickstarter project, Smarthalo. Samrthalo is a combination of navigation, night light and thief-proof alarm.

According to the Kickstarter page, the device can be easily installed to any types of bike and can only be unlocked with the key provided. Connected via Bluetooth, Smarthalo lets bikers set up destination via designated app and guides them through street blocks with the LEDs light cycle on the top of the device.

The low- power LED lights indicators demonstrate directional orders like slight turn, straight turn and U turns.

The high power LED night light keeps cyclist safe in the evening and turns off automatically when the bike is parked. (CycleLabs/LEDinside)

It automatically turns on the 250 lumens LED night light when the sun goes down. And when you arrive at the destination, the night light goes off automatically too without killing too much battery.

Smarthalo also tracks and records wherever you are going without the need to tap on the app for “start” or “stop” – simply open up the app to see ready to read infographic details of your journey.

Smarthalo transforms the bike into a smart bike by providing call notifications and alarm system. Smarthalo reminds you about incoming calls and SMS on the handlebar. Also, by connecting to your phone, you will receive heads up weather alert.

Built-in motion sensor triggers alarm if anyone attempts to move the bike. The alarm is deactivated by recognizing the paired smartphone or custom tapcode. (CycleLabs/LEDinside)
To secure the bike when parked on-street, the internal motion sensor of Smarthalo will trigger alarm if someone attempts to move the bike.

The battery is especially designed to last up to three weeks under normal condition. While Smarthalo recognizes your smartphone when you approach, you can also unlock it using a tapcode option. It’s like Morse code, which allows combination of tapping among four to six taps with varying length.

To charge the device, simply unlock it from the bike and connect Smarthalo to USB outlet.

CycleLabs has successfully acquired CAD$ 122,522 (US $92,763) so far with the number still growing. The early bird option is fully booked and will be shipped in May 2016 worldwide.
