The breadth and depth of exhibited products was significantly improved at the Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition (GILE) 2016, which took place from June 9-12 at China Import and Export Fair Pazhou Complex, Guangzhou, China as it served as a comprehensive platform for exhibitors and buyers while providing all-in-one purchase platform of lighting equipment, LED packages, technology and applications to buyers. Besides developing an integrated platform at the exhibition, the show organizers also assisted manufacturers in building partnerships, and providing buyers with a one-stop shopping platform that encompasses lighting equipment, LED package, and new LED technologies.

Alanod, BJB, Bridgelux, Cree, Dow Corning, Epistar, Everfine, Everlight, Fumagalli, Giant, Inventfine, LG Innotek, Luminus Devices, PAK Corporations and Tons Lightology. Exhibitors are able to provide lighting solutions that meet market demands by remaining up-o-date to the industry.

In order to actualize LED’s potential, Epistar consecutively launches LED chips at varied wavelength. The company’s RGB LEDs are mainly used in display applications. As China is the leading country that manufactures displays and actively developing small pitch display, current LED products continue to use RGB LED package rather than CSP LEDs. The finest RGB LED package is 0.8 pitch with corresponding 0505 LED package.

Meanwhile, products for special applications include grow lights, fishing lights, poultry lighting, IR lighting for traditional applications like remote, surveillance, proximity switch and potential applications include iris recognition, photoplethysmogram, auto focus, gesture recognition, 3D measurement, VR, AR and MR applications.

Everlight showcased a variety of LED products. The company focuses on display, automotive market, UV applications, grow lights and lighting applications in 2016. First, the company offers the smallest 0505 LED package while providing its highlighted automotive LED products, including LED tail lights, interior lighting, DRL and head lamps. The company’s LED products is certified by TS16949, JIS while it receives reliability test include AEC-Q101, IEC60810. The automotive LEDs from Everlight are used a number of Chinese automotive lamp manufacturers.

The golden lead frame of Everlight’s 3528 LED package allows the product to resist sulfur. Meanwhile, the company’s UV LED products include mid and low-power as well as high-power UVA LEDs for manicure and industrial curing applications. On the other hand, the company’s UVC LED 6565 package delivers 20mW when driven at 100mA.

The company focuses on display, automotive market, UV applications, grow lights and lighting applications in 2016.

Aside from introducing a variety of LED products, Lightning Optoelectronic Technology starts to provide LEDs with high CRI for applications include commercial lighting, outdoor projects and stage lighting. The company also showcases UV LED and IR LED product portfolio. Lightning Optoelectronic Technology focuses on expansion of EMC LEDs with high efficacy, low thermal resistance and highly reliable products for outdoor, construction, architectural and stage lighting applications.

Cree focuses on indoor applications with high CRI to meet consumers’ expectations of quality light and healthy illumination.

High power LEDs from Cree are mainly used in commercial, industrial and torch lighting. As the penetration rate of automotive LED increases, Cree’s LED products gradually taps into Chinese automotive LED market. The company’s automotive revenue saw increase compared to that of 2014. Main products that are used in Chinese market include high brightness COB LEDs and high-power LED packages.

Luminus Devices demonstrated varied LED solutions, including COB packages and mid-power transmitter. Luminus Devices estimates that lighting LEDs will provide spec and features that are entirely different from traditional lighting technologies.

LG Innotek showcased CSP LEDs and UV LEDs at the exhibition. The company uses its own chip technology in UVC LED while working toward package and module applications. LG Innotek is one of the leading manufacturers that mass produce UVC LEDs. The company’s LED revenue increases thanks to successful deployment. LG Innotek also demonstrated LED package with 90 CRI.

Future, a distributor of lighting LED packages, displayed many LED packages from leading manufacturers.

Refond expands its production of lighting LED products. The company’s FEMC LEDs are mainly used in high-power lighting applications.

Honglitronic’s automotive LEDs are mainly used in exterior automotive applications. The company focuses on entering after market and performance market.

Seoul Semiconductor has been actively promoting automotive LEDs in Chinese market as the company enters Chinese after market and performance market. Meanwhile, the Korean LED giant’s exclusive CSP LED product portfolio, Wicop LEDs, is also being used in backlighting, lighting and automotive applications.
