Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition 2012 Report I: A record number of exhibitors

Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition 2012, Asia’s most influential and comprehensive lighting and LED event, and Guangzhou Electrical Building Technology, which supports the growing trend of eco-friendly buildings, will have a record number of exhibitors when taking place 9 –12 June, 2012 at the China Import and Export Fair Complex, Guangzhou, China.

Organised by Guangzhou Guangya Messe Frankfurt Co Ltd, the combined shows will have 2,900 exhibitors showcasing their products in 21 halls covering 210,000 sqm.  The exhibitors represent 27 countries and regions, including ten new additions – Australia, Belgium, Ireland, Macau, The Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Vietnam and Ukraine.  Both shows offer excellent synergetic effects in terms of solutions, influence, scale and visitor attractions.

More than 100,000 visitors to view leading brand names

A record 100,000 show visitors will be able to view the latest products and technologies from many industry giants such as A.A.G. Stucchi (Italy), Cooper Electric (USA), CREE (USA), Delta Electronics (Taiwan), Easeic Sci-tech (China), ESTO (Austria), Everlight (Taiwan), Fulham (USA), Fumagalli (Italy), GE Lighting (USA), Kingsun (China), LEDENGIN (USA), Nichia (Japan), On Semiconductor Optoelectronics (USA), Osram (Germany), Panasonic (Japan), Philips (USA), QSSI (USA), ROHM (Japan), SemiLEDs (USA), Seoul Semiconductor (Korea) and Tridonic (Austria).

The majority of exhibitors, 1,900 in total, are showcasing the full spectrum of LED products.  Most of them can be found in the exhibition’s LED Asia section which will cover eight halls, offering an exhibition area of 80,000 sqm.  Leading industry players to be found here include Citizen (Japan), CREE (USA), Delta (Taiwan), Everlight (Taiwan), Hongli (China), Lextar (Taiwan), Nationstar (China), Nichia (Japan), Panasonic (Japan), ROHM (Japan), Seoul Semiconductor (Korea), Tongfang (China) and Toshiba (Japan).

For efficient sourcing, this year Hall 12.2 is dedicated to LED manufacturing and inspection equipment / LED raw material, substrate and packaging materials; LED epitaxial wafer; LED chips / LED packaging; LED components / LED modules; and LED drivers and controls.

Making its show debut at Hall 13.2 will be the Display Asia theme zone which is a business matchmaking platform for Asia’s display market.  The exhibitor profile includes video and screen, PFD TV, handheld products, 3D display technology, digital signage, FPD monitor and E-paper.
 

 

Four new supporters join 2012 show line-up

The Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition has attracted four new supporters, bringing the total number of supporters to 18.  The new supporters are:

• The Asian Association of Lighting Designers (AALD), co-organiser of the Lighting Design Gallery
• The China Hotel Purchasing and Supplying Association (CHPSA) which has pledged its support for the show
• The Hong Kong Electronic Industries Association (HKEIA), organiser of the Hong Kong Pavilion and the Hong Kong Information Day at AGORA, and
• The Taiwan Lighting Fixture Export Association (TLFEA) which heads up the Taiwan Pavilion

Events offer knowledge and networking opportunities

The show has already established a reputation for its diverse range of industry events which attract capacity audiences.  This year there are four new events which offer business opportunities and the latest market and technology information:

• Asia LED Hi-tech Transaction Festival
Various Asian LED research agencies will showcase their latest technology and research to help promote market development. The event is organised by LEDth and Guangzhou Guangya Messe Frankfurt Co Ltd.

• Business Matchmaking Programme
More than 50 companies have confirmed their participation, including buying offices from ARENA, ATICO and Kingfisher.

• Hong Kong Information Day
This event is hosted by the Hong Kong Electronic Industries Association and the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC). Presentations relating to the LED lighting will be delivered by HKPC, City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong ASTRI and lighting industry representatives.

• LED Lighting Standards Promotional Meeting
This meeting aims to give industry players a LED market standard and future development direction.

Returning events include:

• AGORA
A networking forum for industry associations to exchange information with professional visitors.

• Asia LED Summit
LED experts from China, Japan, Korea and Taiwan will share market updates and forecasts. Mr George Craford, inventor of yellow LED, and Dr Shuji Nakamura, inventor of the high brightness GaN blue light LED, will be the summit’s keynote speakers.

• China Lighting Distribution Market Summit
A special summit for distributors covering topics relating to China’s distribution market for lighting products.

• Guangzhou International Lighting Technology Symposium
A forum for international and domestic lighting experts to exchange first-hand information, particularly relating to lighting design.

• Innovation in Lighting Symposium
Market leaders and research experts demonstrate the latest lighting technologies and ideas.

• Lighting Design Gallery
 A networking event to explore worldwide lighting design trends.

• Lighting Award presentation
China’s only government authorised lighting design award.

Running alongside both shows will be the Building Solar China – Conference and Exhibition which is jointly organised by WIP Wirtschaft und Infrastruktur GmbH & Co Planungs-KG and Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd.  This event highlights integrated solar technologies and smart solutions for buildings, showing how energy generation and energy management is applied.

The Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition and Guangzhou Electrical Building Technology are part of Messe Frankfurt’s architecture and technology shows, headed by the biennial Light+Building event in Frankfurt which will take place from 30 March – 4 April 2014.
