Philips Lighting Installs Its First LED Stadium Lighting System in Turkey for Sinan Erdem Arena

Operating in Turkey for 87 years, Philips Lighting has installed the first Philips ArenaVision LED pitch lighting system in Turkey at the Sinan Erdem Arena. Energy efficient pitch and stand lighting was installed at the sports arena ahead of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Final Four on May 19-21. The pitch lighting meets the latest International Basketball Federation (FIBA) standards for TV broadcasting and can be used to enhance the fan experience through dazzling light and music shows.

Cree Kicks Off Sports Lighting Campaign with Aid from Soccer Captain Abby Wambach

In an intensely fought semi-final match on June 30, the U.S. women soccer team beat German team 2-0 at FIFA Women’s World Cup and secured its spot in the competition finals. Sharp-eyed viewers might recognize the team’s captain Abby Wambach had recently showed off her impressive goal shooting skills in U.S. LED manufacturer Cree’s sports lighting advertisement. The ad featuring Wambach had attracted more than 550,000 views in two weeks across all Cree and Abby Wambach social channels, including YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, said Mike Watson, Vice President of Product Strategy at Cree.

University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, AZ has installed high performance LED stadium lights from Ephesus Lighting, Inc., the leader in providing LED lighting solutions for sports facilities.   According to Amy Casper, CEO of the Syracuse-based company, the facility will be the first NFL venue to illuminate the playing surface exclusively with LED lighting.
