Alberta Ice Arena Retrofitted with Albeo's Solid-State LED Lighting

Albeo Technologies Inc., a manufacturer and supplier of energy efficient LED lighting systems, today announced that the Bowden Ice Arena in Alberta has retrofitted entirely with Albeo's C-Series High-Bay white-LED Solid-State Luminaire. Albeo's C-Series high-bay produces over 25,000 lumens at 79 lm/W, giving it a wall plug efficiency that surpasses fluorescent and HID high-bay lighting systems.

Light-Based Technologies has developed an analog control circuit for a plurality of light sources. The company has been issued U.S. Patent No. 7,570,183 on August 4th, 2009 to protect this invention. According to the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office, the invention relates to "a system of generation of multi-channel analog output signals, from a single analog input signal, and the controlled activation of peripheral devices responsive to the multi-channel analog output signals."

Welland, Canada, Issued Request for Proposal for LED Street Light Conversion

The City of Welland, Ontario, Canada, has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for switching all the street lighting in the city to LEDs. This is a first in the preparation of municipal, provincial or state RFPs or tenders in Canada that calls specifically for LED lighting. The RFP and tender calls for the replacement of 5903 street lights and an on-hand inventory of 97, making this a 6000-unit project over 3 years. The closing date is Monday July 6.
