Lextar has announced that it is going to launch a series of VCSEL products for 3D sensing applications including facial and gesture recognition, people detection, and driver fatigue detection. Vertical integrated LED company Lextar is going to announce its I-Mini Square module for automotive tail lamp application. Lextar has reported revenue drop in September due to its continuous product adjustments. The company registered a revenue of NT$ 98 million (US$ 3.17 million) for September with a decrease of 6.7% YoY. 

Taiwanese LED manufacturers have been affected by the tepid LED market resulting from LED price declines due to oversupply. The escalating trade war has also impacted the demand of the end market. 

Taiwanese LED manufacturers announced that the shipment of LED backlight products has contributed to their revenue in 3Q18. LED chip maker Epsitar said the orders for blue LED backlight and four elements LED have grown. Meanwhile, LED vertical integration manufacturer Lextar revealed its escalating revenue for August. 

The “2018 International Micro LED Display Conference” was held by Taiwan Display Union Association (TDUA), at Touch Taiwan 2018 where a special booth for Micro LED/ Mini LED products solutions was set up.

Lextar has announced that the company will launch the latest Micro LED chips with the size smaller than 20 µm and two different Micro LED chip solutions for display applications at Touch Taiwan 2018.

Lextar has been reorganizing its production capacities and adjusting its products portfolio, aiming to efficiently integrate its resources and to boost profit margin for the future. 

Lextar has released a series of Mini LED products including Mini LED RGB display modules and Mini LED backlight for notebooks and monitors. The products will be demonstrated at Touch Taiwan 2018 by the end of August in Taipei, Taiwan. 

Lextar reported its financial report for the second quarter of 2018 with a consolidated revenue of NT$ 2.98 billion (US$ 97.24 million), up by 12.6% QoQ. The net profit came to NT$ 50 million (US$ 1.63 million). For the first half of the year, the revenue was NT$ 5.63 billion (US$ 183.71 million) with a decrease of 8.8 YoY, while the net profit dropped by 75.5% to NT$ 12 million (US$ 391,572). 

LED vertical integration manufacturer Lextar Electronics registered a revenue of NT$ 950 million (US$ 31 million) for July, up by 4.3% MoM and down by 15% YoY. The company said it has adjusted its product portfolio by radically reducing the share of general lighting products and targeting customized LED lighting modules and high power LED for special applications.

The Taiwan-based supplier of wide range LED product, Lextar, released its revenue of the second quarter and reported the company’s plan to boost Mini LED backlight application for the second half of 2018.

Taiwan LED manufacturers recently announce their first-quarter revenues. The revenues of Epistar and Lextar both declined more than 10% YoY. In 2H18, these two companies will launch new Mini LED products, which might help increase their revenues.

The next generation display technology Micro LED draws lots of attention, but Micro LED will take time to reach the mass production (MP) phase. Before that happens, mini LED with lower technical barrier will enter its MP phase first. Sources said, panel makers and LED die manufacturers already started their collaboration. Initially, mini LED will be used for two major categories: signage and TV panel backlight source. The cooperative effort will launch ultra-fine-pitch signage and super energy-saving, ultra-slim direct lit mini LED backlight TV panels.

Lextar, a Taiwan-based supplier of a board range of LED products, reported its revenue in August declined to NTD 1.06 billion, down 4.6% MoM and 9.95% YoY. The consolidated revenue as of the end of August reached about NTD 8.35 billion, down 9.37% YoY.

Vertically integrated LED manufacturer Lextar announces the latest LED Poly-Ellipsoid Headlight System (PES) headlamp module. Tailored for automotive and motorcycle headlights, the brand-new LED PES headlight module is equipped with Lextar’s independently designed optical lens that can boost maximum luminance to 70,000cd. 

LED manufacturer Lextar third quarter financial results for 2016 recently showed positive developments.

Lextar Electronics, the vertically integrated LED maker in Taiwan, is setting the trend with human-centric lighting, a combination of LED lighting fixtures with a control system that can simulate day and night to change the color temperature of the light. At the same time, the company also launched “Solar White”, its latest LED light quality upgrade technology capable of generating an LED light source similar to natural sunlight. Taiwanese LED manufacturer Lextar posted a net loss of NT $ 120 million (US $ 3.82 million) for second quarter of 2016, despite reporting a revenue increase.

Lextar consolidated revenue during first quarter of 2016 slid 3.2% YoY to NT$ 3.39 billion (US $ 104.19 million), due to price pressures on the market.

The worst is thought to be over as 2015 comes to an end, a quick overview of developments in the past year show product prices have reached new historical lows in the past year. The elimination race has escalated with restructures becoming the new norm in the industry.
