Analog Devices, Inc., which recently acquired Linear Technology Corporation, announces the LTC7004, a high speed, high side N-channel MOSFET driver that operates up to a 60V supply voltage. Its internal charge pump fully enhances an external N-channel MOSFET switch, enabling it to remain on indefinitely. The LTC7004’s powerful 1Ω gate driver can easily drive large gate capacitance MOSFETs with very short transition times and 35ns propagation delays, well suited for both high frequency switching and static switch applications.

36V, 2A Monolithic Synchronous Step-Down LED Driver with Silent Switcher Topology Minimizes EMI Concerns

Analog Devices, Inc., which recently acquired Linear Technology Corporation, announces the LT3932, a monolithic, synchronous, step-down DC/DC converter with internal 36V, 2A power switches and an internal PWM generator. Its fixed frequency, peak current mode control accurately regulates current within ±1.5% for strings of up to 2A LEDs. Its integrated PWM generator offers a 128:1 dimming ratio. If dimming ratios of up to 5000:1 are required, the LT3932 and an external PWM generator can accommodate these applications.

Toshiba, Intersil, and Linear announce new LED driver ICs respectively

Toshiba America Electronic Components (TAEC) published four new 16-channel driver ICs for LED-backlit applications ranging from notebook PCs to large TVs. The TC62D722 targeted high-end displays in TVs and offered a 16-bit pulse-width-modulation (PWM) mode that reduced display flicker in features specific to the application.
