Asian Development Bank Invests US $200M in LED Light Upgrade in India

A new $200 million Asian Development Bank (ADB) loan will finance installation of millions of energy-efficient lights in streets and homes and energy-efficient water pumps in farms across India, leading to energy savings of around 3,800 gigawatt-hours per year, equivalent to the annual output of two 300-megawatt coal-fired power stations.

Osram Expands in Entertainment Lighting with ADB Acquisition

Osram is expanding its leading market position in the entertainment sector and has acquired certain assets from ADB TTV SAS to continue its business operations. The acquired business will become integral part of Osram’s subsidiary Clay Paky. ADB is a French company which specializes in lighting for theaters and TV studios based in Saint Quentin. The transaction was completed on 3 August 2016. “With the acquisition of ADB TTV SAS’ business and the highly reputable ADB brand, we will expand our position in the innovation-driven entertainment lighting market”, said Hans-Joachim Schwabe, CEO of Osram's Specialty Lighting business unit.

ADB Financially Backs Malaysia Large Scale Smart LED Streetlight Project

Ryuchi Kaga, Head of the Office of Public-Private Partnerships of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Datuk HJ. Kamarudin Bin MD Shah, CEO of Melaka Green Technology Corporation, signed a transaction advisory services agreement today that will pave the way for a public-private partnership (PPP) project to install energy efficient road lights in the Malaysian state of Melaka.
