Lextar Ranked First Again in Taiwan LED Industry in 2013 Patent Application

According to a recent top-hundred ranking list of domestic patent application in 2013 by Intellectual Property Office (IPO) of the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA), Lextar Electronics Corp. remained in the first place in LED industry in Taiwan,. In the ranking, Lextar was also second to none in number of granted patents and invention patent applications. This was the third consecutive year that Lextar topped in patent application in Taiwan LED industry, revealing its effectiveness in technology and patent deployment.

Taipei World Trade Center Architectural Lighting Project

Taipei World Trade Center is a postmodernist style architecture constructed with “bricks.” During the 1970s, the Taiwanese government started constructing this multiuse venue that combines exhibition space, conference facilities, offices and a hotel for international traders. In 2006, the owner commissioned GUANG Lighting Design to give this building a whole new night time face.

LED Industry Continues Upward Climb in Nov.

The lighting market trend will continue its gradaul growth. LED lighting penetration rates are expected to further increase as LED prices overall falling and consumer recognition is on the rise. Backlight market orders have slid as uncertainties still surround China’s new home appliance subsidiary policy. Some LED manufacturers revenues have decreased and there has been a rebound in the backlight market compared to last month. With the Chinese Lunar New Year approaching, manufacturers’ conventional holiday stockup demands will provide a certain degree of support for LED manufacturers’ sales performance. Overall, the LED market will continue its upward climb in November.

This is Runtex Tun-Rein Residence, a symbol of sophisticated taste and prestige. The most recognizable feature of this building is exactly its egg-shaped structure installed in the lobby. Interacting with light over observation – TNT Night Watching Tour in Taipei

Since 1999, the Transnational Tanteidan (TNT) has been traveling around the world to survey lighting conditions in different cities. This time, they traveled to Taiwan and had a short but impressive event with Taiwanese people. In this event, members of TNT discussed with participants on their survey and went out to detect lighting conditions in five areas in Taipei City. That was a typhoon night, yet these detectives didn’t be defeated by the wind and rain. They walked in the areas and observed carefully to find out heroes and villains – good lighting and bad lighting.

In order to promote the concept of “lighting environment activity,” Coretronic Culture and Arts Foundation (CCAF) started up a series of events in hopes to make our lighting conditions better. Lighting-sculpturing NCTA along the Dong-Shang River

After six years, visitors can return to the National Center for Traditional Arts (NCTA) and wander around there at night this summer. NCTA therefore launched a special summer project called “66 nights in NCTA – ‘Along the River During the Qingming Festival’ under the starry night” (Editor’s note: “Along the River During the Qingming Festival” is a famous Chinese painting that depicts bustling streets in Bianjing, now Kaifeng, along an ancient canal in the Song Dynasty) to feast visitors. In order to enrich the beauty of nights in NCTA, the owner worked with Delta Electronic who provided its LED lighting integration program which adopts hardwire and software controlling systems and power supply design, so it is possible to protect our environment by 63% lower energy consuming while enhance the gorgeous scene.

The tallest construction in New Taipei City, a.k.a. the Xinbei Bridge, reveals that even the latest architectural technology can dance elegantly with beautiful scenes when it is given help from appropriate lighting design. Taipei City is the biggest city in Taiwan; across the rivers surrounding it, it is the second biggest city – The New Taipei City. For decades, these two major cities have been connected by several bridges and become the Big Taipei Metropolis. However, as the population increasing, it is necessary to build a new one that can improve traffic conditions for the most densely inhabited districts. And the answer is Xinbei Bridge, literally “New Taipei Bridge.”

Everlight: Benefits Outweigh Costs if Taiwan and China Switch to LED Lamps

Energy saving has topped governments’ agendas as global environmental issues escalate. If Taiwan and China replaced traditional lamps with LEDs, the amount of energy Taiwan could save would be equivalent to the annual electricity generated by its three nuclear power plants, while China could save 850 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity annually (equivalent to Taiwan’s 4-year electricity consumption), said Everlight CEO Mr. Robert Yeh.
