Lemnis Lighting Releases Low Price LED Bulbs to Give Customers a Try

Lemnis Lighting has made a price war with two new LED bulbs priced at $4.95 and $6.95 for general lighting, expecting to get more consumers to adopt the switch. Despite of the low price, the bulbs do have some limitations when compared to their less energy efficient counterparts. The Pharox Blu line is available in 200-lumen and 350-lumen versions, but both give off less light than a 40-watt incandescent, which offers 450 lumens. Philips Announces Q4 Loss of $211M

Royal Philips Electronics has posted a fourth-quarter loss due to a worse performance by its lighting, health care arms, as well as television business. The net loss for the October to December period was euro160 million ($211 million), compared with profit of euro465 million in the same period a year ago. Osram, glabal lighting company backed by Siemens, has announced to cut jobs in Germany for further transition to LED industry.
