The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) announced today it has issued a Request for Information (RFI) to solicit responses from industry experts and interested parties on a proposed Metropolitan Highway System (MHS) Lighting Project to see if MassDOT should contract with an outside partner to design, build, finance, operate and maintain the lighting system.

Built in 1887, the building operated as a 500-room first-class hotel until 1940, when it was requisitioned by the War Office. Jim Campbell is an electronic artist who has been working with light sculptures for over 30 years. After graduating from M.I.T with degrees in electrical engineering and mathematics, he worked as an engineer in Silicon Valley. Intrigued by pixilated images, he decided to apply the same principles of low resolution to moving images. He began experimenting with perception and the amount of information required to make an image recognizable in the human mind.

Panasonic Corporation today announced the opening of its “SLIDING NATURE” concept installation at this year’s Milano Salone Del Mobile, one of the largest and most influential design exhibitions in the world, held in Milan. The BayArena is a football stadium with a multifunctional complex of VIP lounges, training rooms and an official fan shop for the German football club, Bayer Leverkusen. Renovated in 2009 and holding over 30,000 seats, the BayArena is one of the more modern stadiums of the German Football League.
