Philips Creates Dreamy Light Setting for DARKLIGHT

Every once in a while you see something so creatively astonishing it just blows your mind. That’s exactly how I felt after watching DARKLIGHT, a short film by Sweetgrass Productions.

DARKLIGHT, is action sports cinema at its best. Imaginative cinematography in an outlandish setting with over-the-top crazy stunts that will propel viewers into the fantastical world of mountain biking. With their bikes pimped with glowing lights, three professional bikers Graham Agassiz, Matt Hunter, and Matty Miles jump, fly, spin and slide through the moonscapes of Southern Utah to the Ewok forests of the Pacific Northwest. The result: a masterpiece with in your face bike choreography that seems to come out of a Sci-Fi blockbuster.

One of the breath-taking takes in the Ewok forests of the Pacific Northwest .

The lighting and colors brilliantly highlight the picturesque landscape and the phenomenal world-class riding. It’s a wonderful example of how light has the power to create dramatic effects and add magic to an already spectacular experience.

The images are clear and crisp. The lighting is vibrant and bewitching. The stunts are riveting, powerful and appear to defy gravity. What a blast it must have been to edit this film with so much variety and cool camera angles.

DARKLIGHT was shot during the midnight hours over three excruciating weeks.

DARKLIGHT was shot during the midnight hours over three excruciating weeks. One can only imagine how physically and mentally demanding this production was on the crew and the riders.

The finished product is absolutely breathtaking. The images and stunts will captivate you and stay with you well after the screening is over because “DARKLIGHT, isn’t like anything you’ve ever seen before in the world of mountain biking.”

The DARKLIGHT film was developed in partnership with Philips TV to show the power of Ambilight and how adding light to an already great experience can enhance it even further.
