Vietnam Imperial City Lit up by Signify

Vietnam’s historical monument, the “Imperial City” in Huế, has been illuminated with architectural LED lighting provided by Signify.

The lighting project was initiated by Vietravel Company who has worked with Signify to design illumination for the Forbidden City in Vietnam to honor the historical value of the monument as well as to create a night attraction for tourist and locals.

Combined with Philips Color Kinetics technology, the thick stone walls of the fortress were installed with 270 Philips Color Kinetics Vaya linear lights and 155 Philips Color Kinetics Vaya Flood. The “Flag Tower” of the Imperial City with colored light can be viewed for miles along the Perfume River.

The new lighting is able to create spectacular light shows that include simulating the firing of “cannons” set in the walls of the tower. The LED lighting system is anticipated to save up to 75% more energy compared to conventional lighting systems.

Aside from the Imperial City in Huế, Signify has also lit up other landmarks in Vietnam including the Dragon Bridge in Da Nang, Ha Long Bridge in Bai Chay, Hang Dau Bridge and Nhat Tan Bridge in Hanoi.
