The Starry Light Lamps by Anagraphic Brings the Night Sky into Your Room

The collaboration between a graphic designer and an interior designer in Hungary has led to the design of a lamp that projects star constellations on the ceiling while still providing functional light, which called the Starry Light Lamp.

The Starry Light Lamps by Anagraphic are the brainchild of Anna Farkas and Miklὀs Batisz and are all manufactured by hand in different workshops in Budapest, Hungary. The lamp has holes punched into its dome shaped shade, which correspond to the constellations visible in the night sky of the northern hemisphere, complete with outlines that trace the constellations so you can identify them more readily.

Turn on the light, and the Starry Light projects stars on your walls and ceiling via the punched-out holes in the fixture itself, while a downward-pointing LED bulb lights up your living space below. The Starry Light Lamp can bring the night sky indoors.

The Starry Light comes in four color and finish options (matte black, matte white, glossy white, and a purple color called pearl violet), and it costs €988 (or about $1273 US).

A spokesperson from Lights 4 Living said: “This design combines great design with function, creating an exciting lighting installation while still providing light to the room. The lamp shows real attention to detail by corresponding the holes in the lamp with actual constellations. This brings a unique and interesting element to the design and is a great take on home lighting.”
