Lighting Industry Association Announces New President

At the LIA Annual Lunch held 23 May, Alasdair McRury, Managing Director of Holophane Europe was welcomed as President of the LIA for the coming year.

He takes over from Rune Marki, CEO of OSRAM UK, who said “I have been proud to be the first President of the newly formed LIA and believe that much has been achieved in the last 18 months in creating a stronger representation body for the lighting industry”

 

 

Alasdair McRury thanked Rune Marki, on behalf of all members for his contribution, as President, to the success of the LIA. In his incoming President speech he said

“It is important at this time of the digital revolution in lighting that the LIA works with its partners and government to ensure that the quality standards and compliance are pursued vigorously to ensure a level playing field for all companies working in the UK lighting industry”

The LIA President chairs the LIA council, which comprises elected Members representing all sectors of LIA membership. Meeting regularly, the Council members share their time, experience and expertise to help develop LIA policies that are aimed at supporting a good quality and vibrant UK lighting market.
