Lumenpulse Wins Next Generation Luminaires Design Competition Awards for Quality and Energy Efficiency

Lumenbeam LBX Pendant and Lumencove recognized for excellence in the design of commercial LED luminaires

Lumenpulse Inc., a leading innovator and manufacturer of high-performance, architectural LED-based lighting solutions for commercial, institutional, and urban environments, announced that it has won two Next Generation Luminaires™ (NGL) awards presented at LIGHTFAIR International 2012.

The Next Generation Luminaires (NGL) Solid State Lighting (SSL) Design Competition is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES), and the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD). The competition was created to promote excellence in the design of energy-efficient LED luminaires for general illumination in commercial lighting applications.

Lumenpulse won in the Indoor competition for its Lumenbeam™ LBX Pendant, designed for large interior spaces such as lobbies, atriums, convention centers and other high ceiling applications, and for Lumencove®, designed for cove and tight space applications.

Competition judges commented on the excellent optical control and high output of the Lumenbeam LBX Pendant, while even distribution and smooth dimming were identified as important attributes for Lumencove, along with color quality and output.

“Using specification-grade LEDs to light offices and public spaces has the potential to save great amounts of energy and open up new and more intelligent ways to harness both natural and artificial light,” said François-Xavier Souvay, Founder, President and CEO of Lumenpulse. “This recognition by the DOE, IES and IALD represents a great coming together of design excellence and sustainability and we are very honored to receive the awards.”

The two Lumenpulse NGL awards follow a number of other recent awards given to Lumenpulse. In March 2012 Lumenpulse won a prestigious Red Dot Award for its high-performance projector Lumenbeam LBX and was recognized with an unprecedented six Product Innovation Awards (PIA) from Architectural SSL magazine for Lumentalk™ announced last week and debuting at LIGHTFAIR International 2012; Lumensub™; Lumenfacade™ Horizontal; Lumenbeam™ LBX Pendant; the Lumenpulse installation at BC Place Stadium in Vancouver; and the Lumenpulse Master Catalog.
