Straits Lighting Shines Lights on Businesses to Save Them Money

As president of the Michigan based, Straits Lighting, Ricky Singh has always had a clear and bright vision - so much so that Singh was honored to have been distinguished as one of Crain's Detroit's 40 under 40 for the 2014 class.

The superior LED lighting is not only saving other Michigan businesses money, but is also helping the environment with significant energy savings. "LED lighting technology is changing things world-wide since it is vastly superior to its predecessors - that being fluorescent and incandescent lighting," said Ricky P. Singh, president of the Straits Lighting Company. "LED is extremely safe because it contains no harmful chemical materials and lasts 3-5 times longer," he added.

Singh's strong technology background, having been formally employed with GE Lighting, among others said, "With our companies strong understanding of LED lighting and commercial real estate finance, it was clear to us that there was a void in the marketplace for an organization that could help business owners identify and articulate the true savings that LED lighting can provide for an organization, and consequently the value that it can create."

LED lighting makes sense for every business. "We offer traditional equipment financing, leasing structures, as well as, our new shared savings model which allows our customers to implement an LED lighting infrastructure with no out of pocket cost, and without taking on any debt," announced Singh.

Average savings that LED lighting can provide for a typical business is 50%-70% on lighting costs; 15%-50 % on total electrical expenditures, along with significant savings on maintenance and lamp replacement.

The Straits Lighting Company is currently operating in southeast Michigan, along with the southwest side of the state. Out of state major markets are in the works, and tier 2 cities throughout the Midwest are within reach for 2015. Revenue growth has been steady, and the company expects to see triple digit growth in 2015 with the corporate enterprise sustainability alliance push and their shared savings program.

Straits Lighting currently services customers in the public sector, hospitality, retail, education, healthcare, office, industrial, automotive, and in the entertainment arenas -  respectively.
