 1) Newly joined by global manufactures

LIGHTING JAPAN 2014 will renew its record scale again (380 exhibitors and 25,000 visitors expected), joined by more leading companies from each category – from LED/OLED lighting manufacturing technologies (6th LED/OLED lighting Technology Expo), LED/OLED lighting fixtures (4th LED/OLED Light Expo) to stylish design lightings (DESIGN LIGHTING TOKYO 2014).

Special Projects inside DESIGN LIGHTING TOKYO 2014

* BRIDGE

Special installation “BRIDGE” is a selected collection of simple, stylish and “NEXT” products by European lighting brands that are launched in Japan for the first time. Japanese well-known architect Akihisa Hirata will select products and supervise the installation design. Showing the latest European designs in Tokyo, it will act as a BRIDGE between Europe and Asia.

* NEXT LIGHTING

NEXT LIGHTING is a special exhibition area for newly-launched manufacturers and designers to present new designs. More than 100 products are expected to be presented here.

* PROTO LIGHTING

At PROTO LIGHTING, designers show their distinguished prototype lighting designs. You can show/find innovative prototypes combining lighting and untraditional materials/design often using LED/OLED lighting and other new lighting technologies. Here is the venue to collaborate with designers for commercializing products, outsourcing designs, etc.

3) Renewed and enriched Conference Program

LIGHTING JAPAN is evaluated not only for the exhibition but also for its co-held Conference, where the industry leaders share their strategies and discuss technical progress on the hottest topics. This year, reflecting the market and extension of the exhibition, the Conference is renewed to be more attractive.

*More sessions focused on OLED lighting

Sessions on OLED lighting have always been the most popular part. For 2014, LIGHTING JAPAN Conference will focus more on OLED lighting, addressing from various aspects such as market trends, promising applications, material technologies, coating technology for OLED productivity improvement, various technologies for high-performance OLED, etc.

Above all, the Keynote Session invites an internationally-respected authority on OLED, Dr. Junji Kido of Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Yamagata University as one of the speakers. It’s an indispensable opportunity to learn the current status and future prospects of OLED lighting from the pioneer of the industry.

*Special session by the world-class designer

In 2014, sessions on lighting/space design are also enriched. Special Session is sure to be the most popular, which invites the winner of the Pritzker Architecture Prize, also known as the Novel Prize of architecture, Ms. Kazuyo Sejima.
