Kodak Recognized for OLED Lighting Technology

Eastman Kodak Company has been named by Frost & Sullivan as the recipient of the 2009 OLED Lighting Enabling Technology of the Year Award in the field of Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) Solid State Lighting (SSL) Technology.

According to Frost & Sullivan, the Enabling Technology of the Year Award is presented to a company that has developed a technology that can benefit or revolutionize the industry.

Kodak was recognized for its development of systems and processes that will enable a future generation of low power, cost-effective OLED lighting systems.

“Low-cost, energy-efficient OLED solid state lighting is a very promising future application, and is a direct result of Kodak’s continued OLED innovation. We are committed to bringing this technology to market through collaboration with other leading companies,” said Corey Hewitt, Operations Manager and VP, Kodak’s OLED Systems Business.

“We are delighted to be recognized by a well-respected organization such as Frost & Sullivan. As we continue to develop new applications for Kodak OLED technology, we remain dedicated to finding sustainable solutions that will some day result in cost-effective lighting systems that consume as much as 50% less energy”.

Kodak will display the Frost & Sullivan award and will demonstrate its other OLED advances in the company’s exhibit at the upcoming Society for Information Display Conference in San Antonio, Texas.
