The installation, slated for September, will improve the fan experience through the visual elements shown on a new display with a 15HD pixel layout that measures more than 26 feet high by 47 feet wide.

“We are extremely excited to partner with Daktronics on a new state-of-the-art video display system for Hancock Stadium,” said Peyton Deterding, Assistant Athletic Director of Facilities for Illinois State University. “With the construction of the new $25 million East side coming close to completion, we feel the addition of an all-video scoreboard and sound system adds an outstanding touch to the overall spectator experience. As well, with a new Daktronics marquee on Main Street, the front door to the Illinois State campus will have gone through quite a transformation over the past year.”

This display will incorporate excellent image clarity and contrast with wide angle visibility while providing multiple levels of protection from the elements. It is capable of showing one large image to highlight live video and instant replays. It can also be divided into separate windows to show a variety of vivid graphics, colorful animations, up-to-the-minute statistics, scoring information and sponsor advertisements.

A Daktronics audio system, which will be integrated with the video and scoring system, will also be added to the stadium. The system provides full-range sound reproduction and delivers clear and intelligible speech.

“It was great to work with Illinois State on this project and to provide them with a new display for their football stadium,” said Joey Hulsebus, Daktronics sales representative. “We’re excited to see the final installation as it brings another level of excitement to the Redbirds’ game day.”

Daktronics LED video and messaging display technology offers a long lifetime with minimal maintenance and low power consumption, providing value and excitement for years to come.
