Phillips to set up LEDs manufacturing base in India

Philips lighting division senior director Arjun Shahani pointed out that besides importing, they also make LED range with the help of vendors spread across Kolkata, Delhi and Daman. Depending on the demand, they may set up their own manufacturing base in India in future.

The balance 50% demand is met through imports. they intend to meet at least 80% of the demand through Mohali plant by 2010.
