Chinese Lighting Product Exports to Argentina Soar in 1H15, but Exports to St. Lucia Plunges

China’s Light Industry Internet (CLII) recently published important lighting product export statistics for three markets during the first six months of 2015, showed export growth was highest for the Argentina market, and plunged the most in Saint Lucia. Lighting exports to France showed incremental growth.

Chinese LED exports to Argentina Soar 41.29%

During first half of 2015, China’s lighting industry exports to Argentina soared 41.29% to US $85.78 million. Light bulbs amounted for 47.1% exports bringing the total value to US $40.40 million. Annually, Chinese light bulb exports to the South American country soared 52.5%.

Chinese lighting luminaires exported to Argentina trailed closely in second, taking a 43.15% stake in exports and totaling some US $37.01 million. Exports were up about 31.63% YoY.

Drivers, lighting luminaires and other components accumulated exports comprised 6.54% of total exports, and was up 7.33% to about US $5.61 million. 

Electric ballasts for HIDs or LED tube application export growth skyrocketed 215.84% YoY to US $5.61 million, and amounted for about 3.21% of total exports.

Chinese lighting exports to France reported slight growth for 1H15

For the first six months of 2015, China’s lighting luminaire exports to France was up 2.81% YoY to reach US$ 321 million. Luminaire and lighting related products export value amounted for 93.11% of the total exports, and was up 2.91% YoY.

Lighting components comprised a small revenue share of 5.36% or US $18 million, and was up 3.78% YoY.

Lighting signs, identification plates and other similar lighting product exports also posted an increase of 5.84%, and amounted for 1.52% of export value roughly equivalent to US $5 million.

Major Chinese provinces and cities exporting to France include Guangdong, Zhejiang, Fujian, Jiangsu, and Sichuan. Exports from Guangdong climbed up 5.58% YoY to US $154 million, and accounted for 46.55% of revenue shares.

Chinese lighting exports to Saint Lucia plunge 86.54%

Lighting exports from China to Saint Lucia tumbled 86.54% in value from 1H15 to reach US $211,900.

Main Chinese provinces exporting to the Caribbean country include Guangdong, Shandong, Zhejiang, Fujian, Jiangsu and others. Notably Guangdong’s total export value to the country plummeted 85.11% to US $186,000.

Chinese luminaire and lighting product exports to the region dropped 89.79% to US $148,500, and accounted for 70.1% of exports.

Luminaire and lighting component exports, which make up about 29.9% of Chinese exports to the Caribbean island fared slightly better, but still posted a steep decline of 47.06% to US $634,000.
