Signify and Agro-Inwest introduced the giant LED horticultural lighting project in 2017, starting with 25 hectares greenhouses utilizing Philips GreenPower LED toplighting and Philips GreenPower LED interlighting system. The investment received a quick payoff with significant enhanced energy reduced and crop quality increase. The Russian company therefore decided to extend its partnership with Signify. “The Philips LED lighting has reduced energy usage by almost 50% and improved growth predictability, crop appearance and yield,” said Irina Meshkova, Deputy CEO and General Director, Agro-Inwest.

Signify reacted confidently on the expanded partnership and was pleased to take part in the giant project to illustrate their leading position in horticultural lighting. “Demand in Russia for locally grown vegetables and fruits is increasing and Agro-Inwest has responded by scaling production using LED lighting. Our partnership with them has been a big success and we are pleased to continue to help the company to expand its ability to improve crop quality and predictability, while reducing its costs.” Said Udo van Slooten, Besiness Leader Horticulture, Signify.
