Access Fixtures LED Revenue Growth Exceeds 100 Percent in 2014

Access Fixtures has announced that revenue from sales of LED products has exceeded a growth of 100 percent in a year-over-year analysis. Continuous advancements in LED technology enable the use of LED lighting in an increasing number of applications. Categories that have seen the largest growth include LED bollard lightsLED wall packs, and LED flood lights. LED product sales now exceed 50 percent of Access Fixtures' total revenue.

"As prices fall and efficacy increases, property managers realize the value achieved by a lower energy cost and reduced or eliminated maintenance," said Access Fixtures CEO, Steven Rothschild. He continued, "While we typically wait until after the new year to announce revenue growth, LED sales have already achieved extraordinary growth and that was worth announcing."

While the vast majority of LED product sales are new luminaires, Access Fixtures has also seen an increase in LED retrofit kits for wall packs. This shows that there's an increase of property managers who are updating existing luminaires from other sources to LED.

LED lighting is constantly improving in efficacy, energy efficiency, and light quality. These improvements make LED the ideal choice for a number of applications. Many LEDs are now rated LM70 at 100,000 hours, meaning they maintain 70 percent of their initial light output after 100,000 hours of use. Compared to traditional light sources, this drastically reduces the maintenance required for the luminaire. LEDs are also increasing in lumens per watt, making them more energy-efficient while achieving a greater light output.
