Chinese Government Announced the Recipients for LED Lighting Subsidies

On August 24, Chinese government has announced the recipients for financial subsidies in 2012 ~ 2013 annual semiconductor lighting products promotion project from 113 competitors through open-bid competition.

Five China-based companies including Kingsun, Lampearl Photoelectric, Yankon Lighting, Elec-Tech International and Shanghai Yaming Lighting won subsidization for both indoor LED lighting (downlights and PAR lamps) and outdoor LED lighting (street lamps and tunnel lamps).

Among few winning international vendors, Philips landed subsidies for PAR lamps and street lamps. And Delta Electronics was the only Taiwan-based company entering price-bidding competition, though it eventually failed. Everlight has set up a joint venture in Shanghai with Shanghai Yaming and therefore is expected to land orders from Shanghai Yaming. Also, Epistar has partnered and is therefore likely to get orders from Yankon Lighting.
