Thanks to LED-backlit, Chimei, Viewsonic and BenQ was expected to have more competitive advantages in 2011

In Taiwan's LCD monitor market, it’s expected that Asustek and Acer was in the first position and second position respectively. But industry sources noted, affected that Chimei and Viewsonic’s market share would decline in 2010, but should improve in 2011 with strong positions in the LED-backlit segment.

Although Asustek were expected to have a 30% share of Taiwan's LCD monitor market in 2010, followed by Acer with 20-22%. And Chimei, Viewsonic and BenQ was followed them. With the LCD monitor price cuts approaching production costs and LED-backlit developing, Chimei, Viewsonic and BenQ would have own competitive advantages in 2011.

For example, Chime has the most complete LED product portfolio with 19- and 24-inch monitors already out in the market, and noting that LED-backlit monitors' market penetration in 2011 should reach 70%.

Viewsonic had begun readjusting its product line in 2Q10, and added LED-backlit monitors to the lineup. The sources believed Viewsonic's market share would rebound in 2011.

BenQ would have a 9-10% share in 2010. As the company diversifies its sales channels and improves product value, the company would be in a much better position in 2011.
