O2Micro’s LED Architecture Granted under US Patent

O2Micro’s 8 claims for LED Architecture and methodology were issued under United States patent number 8,040,071.

The company’s patented technology provides a very cost effective architecture, with fewer bulky components, making a solution suitable for smaller areas, such as lighting fixtures.

According to Dr. Yung Lin, executive vice president, O2Micro, "The technology in this invention allows users to utilize minimum circuit components to achieve high-performance LED lighting applications for worldwide AC input."
